The Traditional wines are all non vintage, blends of about five to seven white grape varieties. Some of the processes include, whole bunch pressing the grapes, some are fermented as a whole grape with the skin still on. Then they are either stored in oak barrels or stainless steel tanks. We use two to four grape varieties to make the red Tradition wines. They are fermented whole with the skin on for two to four weeks and matured in the old traditional family-tunnel-cellar in old oak barrels. The philosophy behind these wines is to keep the older generations way off blending two to three vintages together to balance out the vintage variations and gain a good complexity.

TRADITION:

The Kamptal-Nord wines are vinified in classic style and focused on the Kamptal DAC profile. Easy drinking and clear expression.

NORD:

Our main category which shows the origin from the Northern Kamptal valley. It has a lively freshness and the pure typicity of the grape. Matured in stainless steel and kept on the fine lees until bottling. Lots of diversity in those bottles.

GRUNDSTEIN:

The Amphibolit wines are single vineyard wines from the terraces up at Thürneustift. The appelation name is Goldnagel. This area has very unique soil conditions. It has a poor and thin top soil layer of Löss and a solid Amphibolite rock underneath. The slope is separated in Amphibol-Shist higher up and Amphibol-Gneiss lower down. It is fermented in large oak barrels kept with the full lees in barrel for one year then transferred into stainless steel tanks keeping the fine lees for another year. The wine is then bottled after two years and only released when they show full potential. These wines are full of character, have outstanding minirality and depth.

AMPHIBOLIT:

Our Special Releases are wines outside of our regular portfolio. Not made every season and some of them are simply new trials which turned out to be really special. With this category we play around a bit and get new experiences and have the opportunity to show some special grape-varieties, wine- making styles but very limited batches.

SPECIAL RELEASES:

Aside from our wines we also make unfined/unfiltered grapejuices. No additions, just pasteurized. Very delicate to have as a simple drink, mixed with still or sparkling water, for cocktails/non alcoholic cocktails and super interesting to use in cooking for salads/sauces.
